Designer, Dressmaker
An Australian based fashion designer/tailor, Bahar specialises in customised garments, appealing to individuals who are seeking something unique and personalised.
Each garment created by Bahar is made exclusively for your body shape and character. Her garments have a modern edge ensuring you feel confident in your own skin and will stand out and shine at any occasion.
Bahar's love of creating one off designs started at a very young age when her interest was piqued by a toy sewing machine from her mother when she was 9 years of age. At the age of 15 she started studying design, pattern making and sewing at the Department of Technical and Vocational Education in Tehran, and although her studies in Electrical Engineering overtook this for a while, Bahar graduated in 2006 with excellent grades in Female Dressmaking. She also completed a course in Applied Fashion Design and Technology at TAFE in 2010 including Applied Colour Theory, History and Theory of Design, and Fashion Illustration.
Upon immigrating to Brisbane, Australia in 2012, Bahar continued with her Electrical Engineering career, but her passion for clothing could not be denied and in 2015 she started Bahar Couture. In 2016 she was proud to be awarded a Scholarship by the Lord Mayor of Brisbane to complete a Certificate IV in Small Business Management at the local TAFE.
Since her arrival in Australia, she has been designing and making dresses for private clients and has staged her own runway events showcasing her creations. Along with creating garments exclusively for two stage shows, Bahar has also provided outfits for dancers, classic singers performing on stage, short movies and commercials.
